They say Summer is relaxing but it’s actually been so busy! In a good way… New camps every week, sleep in’s, late night swims. Can I say- so far this is one of the best Summers we have ever had?
Cant complain about our trip to Europe last month, but we have been healthy (knock on wood) and my kids have weirdly adjusted and loved every camp. I personally love a heat wave and sitting at the beach at 5pm with a good white wine.
I cleaned out my entire garage it’s so organized- which weirdly brings me so much joy. We had an amazing “Cyd’s Closet Sale” in Laguna the other weekend. It was busy the entire time and I met so many wonderful girls. I re-did my backyard with new Business and Pleasure and it honestly feels like a resort now. A new love for a home we have been in.
On bummer notes, we bid on my dream fixer upper and got outbid. I was really emotionally invested in this house after a year of chatting with them. To say I imagined our life in there is an understatement. Ugh- but I’m trying to be positive that THE ONE will soon come. It always works out someway and usually never when you want it to.
Planning a big birthday coming up. Trying not to let it stress me out because thats the last thing I wanted on my birthday but here we are planning a fun event. I never really do anything for my birthday so I am trying to embrace “celebrating” and let me be a star for the night. I usually don’t love attention as a introvert but some things are worth celebrating.

Sometimes I skip going big on my skin in Summer because of sun but I realized I am pretty good about protecting it anyways. After I tried Moxi back in May I think it was, I wanted to “protect my investment”. Was listening to this Podcast with a facialist and she’s like - its wild, women go spend all this money on lasers then go sit in the sun after.
I’m a beach girl through and through, I am just good about my hats and really good sunscreen.
A girlfriend of mine told me about these “Coleman Pads” for dark spots. I started using them about a month ago and needless to say I am impressed. The price isnt crazy and I use about 3 pads a night. One on my face and neck and then two others on my chest, arms and tops of hands. Her skin was like porcelain and I HAD to know what she had been doing.
You can combine it every few nights with very light tretnoin. I have always been a big fan of the company “the agency”. I like that they mix it with other ingredients so your skin adjusts better. Don’t go hard on this combo- less truly is more.
I love the Goop Vitamin -C brighting eye cream. As I have stated before, my under eyes are my area I am showing age the most, so I am always down to try something.
I also recently tried the Marini Skin System because so many people were talking about it- I always like to see for my self. I actually love that they have a “system” that is spelled out to you step by step. It’s everything you need, you don’t need to think about it or dive too much into other products. I brought this to Europe with me since I just wanted to have the basics- not too much thinking.
One of my favorite products from the line is actually the normal or tinted SPF. It works, which is great, doesn’t make you break out and lays nice under any make up.
I love the vitamin C from Skin Ceuticals, I mean who doesn’t. Something to be said about that.
After all my potions before bed I have been globbing on Metacines barrier cream to sleep in. A little lip mask from YiSE and goodbye and goodnight.
It’s been about a month were I am diligent on this combo and I’m very pleased with my skin right now!
Make Up :
I am all about the no make up-make up look in the Summer. Still obsessed with Refy’s lip blur. I use the color “Berry” and I also love “Mauve”. Hands down best lip liner look. (They are $5 off right now so stock up)
I don’t like mascara on me (lift and tint every 10 weeks) but sometimes I need a little love at night. I like this brown color on the ends.
A light eyebrow pencil ( I’m not into eyebrow dying- it never looks good on me) , this gel blush- I love the color “terracotta” and the BEST highlighter on top. Good to go!
